Post Installation Errors in Hyperion Essbase

       Hi friends, here are some of the possible errors that we may face while installing and configuring Hyperion Essbase and Planning.

I. EPMINS-01024:

• Once after installing Oracle Database into our system we will forward to Hyperion installation.
• One of the possible error at this step is that “EPMINS-01024 EPM installer checking failed: finds host name is shown as IP address”. We can continue at this stage but will face many issues later. The solution for this is that we need configure a static IP to the VM and need to be defined that particular IP in the host file in “Windows ->System32->Drivers->etc->host”.

II. Database Connection Error:

• After successful completion of installation we need to configure the Essbase installation here we need to provide the database connection information. 

   Database Type: Oracle’s drive (Thin)

   Server: localhost (here we need to provide the system host name, sometimes it might be        computers name)

   Port: 1521(default)

   Service name or SID: orcl

   User Name: admin

   Password: ********

• In this particular case mostly we face issues with server name.

III. Menu Items not displayed in Workspace:

• Once after completion of installation and configuration in Planning one of the possible error is that we cannot find the "File->Menu" items and sometimes even we cannot find "Dimension library, Application library"in Workspace.
• Solution for this particular issue is that we need to reconfigure "Web Server" option under "Hyperion Foundation Services".
